From the Gut to the Heart. Why Your Body Speaks Before It Breaks

From the Gut to the Heart: Why Your Body Speaks Before It Breaks

By Karin Nahmani

This past year changed me.

Standing on stages in Los Angeles, New York, and Israel, performing my one-woman show, winning awards, and meeting people, I realized something very clear.

People are not coming just to hear stories. They are coming because their bodies are asking for help.

That is why I rebranded my work and my podcast into "From the Gut to the Heart”.

Because the gut is not just about digestion.

It is about emotion.
It is about stress.
It is about fear, intuition, resilience, and the ability to receive life.

And most importantly the body always speaks before it breaks.

Your Gut Is the First Messenger

People ask me all the time, “How did this happen to me?”

The truth is, it didn’t happen overnight.

Your body sends messages constantly.

Fatigue.
Gas.
Bloating.
Constipation.
Heartburn.
Anxiety.
Changes in bowel movement.

Your bowel movement is your screenshot.

It is the WhatsApp message from your body saying: “Please listen.”

Shape.
Color.
Smell.
Texture.

Those four things tell you everything you need to know.

But most people ignore them.

Because ignoring is easier. Until it’s not.

When You’re Young, You Think You’re Invincible

In my latest podcast episode, we spoke with a 25-year-old woman named Kristen.

She represents **99% of the population**.

Young.
Social.
Eating processed food.
Drinking on weekends.
Living life.

She thought she was healthy… Until she wasn’t.

What started as “normal” discomfort turned into severe pain, hospitalization, diverticulitis, and a perforated colon. At 25.

Let me be clear, this did not happen because of one cruise, one drink, or one meal.

It happened because her body had been asking for help for years and no one was listening.

Not even her.

Doctors Treat Symptoms. Your Body Tells the Story

I respect doctors deeply.
They save lives.

But most doctors don’t ask the most important questions:

When was the last time you had a bowel movement?
How often do you go?
What changed before the pain started?

Instead, people are told:

“It’s IBS.”
“Take this.”
“It runs in your family.”

And they go home alone, scared, and uneducated.

No nutrition guidance.
No lifestyle conversation.
No emotional support.

Just medication and “good luck.”

That is not healing.

Stress Makes Everything Worse

When someone tells you, “You might need surgery,” your body goes into panic mode.

Stress tightens the gut.
Fear creates more gas.
Anxiety slows digestion.

This is where the heart and gut collide.

That’s why I do what I do.

Because healing cannot happen in fear.

Resetting Is the Word for 2026

This year is about Resetting.

Not punishing your body.
Not starving yourself.
Not chasing trends.

Resetting your:

Gut
Mind
Nervous system
Emotional patterns
Relationship with food

Healing does not require perfection. It requires awareness.

Ten minutes a day.
Small choices.
Consistency.

That’s it.

Probiotics, Enzymes, and Why Most People Are Inflamed

Most people today:

Lack probiotics (your immune soldiers)
Lack enzymes (what breaks food down)
Eat inflammatory foods
Live under constant stress

The result? Food sits. Gas builds. Waste stays trapped. Inflammation grows.

Then people say, *“I don’t know why I’m tired.”*

Your gut controls your energy, mood, sleep, hormones, fertility, and immune system.

When it’s slow your life feels slow.

This Is Not About Quick Fixes

There is no magic pill. There is a restart.

A Choice To Stop Ignoring Your Body.
A Choice To Listen.
A Choice To Learn.

Kristen said something powerful, “I can choose the hard of changing my life, or the hard of living sick forever.”

That is the real decision.

Balance Is the Answer

I am not telling you to stop living.

Dance.
Travel.
Drink wine.
Eat cake.

But balance it.

Do not punish yourself.
Do not live in guilt.
Guilt is inflammation too.

Your body is not against you. It is trying to protect you.

Don’t Wait for the Wake-Up Call

I have seen cancer change lives overnight.
I have seen healthy people wake up sick.
I have seen how fast life can shift.

Do not take life for granted.

Listen now… Before your body has to scream.

Your gut speaks first. Your heart follows.

And when you finally listen. Everything changes.

Before It’s Too Late

What happened to Kristen didn’t start in a hospital. It started years earlier in moments that looked harmless.

That’s the part most people miss.

This is where I want to pause—not because the story ends here, but because this is usually the moment people feel something shift.

A question.
 A recognition.
A quiet discomfort they can’t ignore anymore.

Because once you understand that your body speaks long before it breaks, you can’t unknow it.

Coming up we’ll talk about "How To Recognize The Earliest Gut Signals Most People Dismiss” and why those whispers matter more than the diagnosis that comes later.
